Active Allowance makes the whole earning/spending/saving/learning process easy to do. And by making it easy, we make it possible! We’ve created easy-to-use, integrated, web-based tools to address the three key issues of any allowance and responsibilities system:

How much should the allowance be?

We’ve built in a budgeting module that helps you list what purchases you’d like to place under your child's control — that's what determines the allowance. This does not mean increased spending — we simply mean putting the money in your child's hands that you would probably spend anyway, but allowing your child the freedom to manage it and make choices within certain limits that you define.

What about Chores?

Many parents believe their children's allowances should be linked in some way to chores and many do not. Either way, most parents do believe their children should have age-appropriate chores (we prefer to call them "Responsibilities"). So we’ve created a module for you to list their household responsibilities and print a page that becomes their day-to-day “To Do” list. And if you do choose to link, their allowance will be dialed up or down, depending on how they do each week. There are even opportunities for you to create bonus activities — like finishing a school project (gasp) early!

How do you keep track and manage it day-to-day?

We’ve created a virtual family bank to make budgeting and spending manageable for your kids, with controls and limitations determined by you. And when the kids want money from their account, they simply log-in and write a check at their kid-friendly portal!

And we’ve made all the tools extremely flexible so you can tailor them to your family’s needs as well as make each item age appropriate.
