Tips-Extending the System

You can easily extend the system and create family rules. Here are some examples from members:

1) Create an account called "Points". For every dollar that goes into it, kids can redeem them for a family reward 9eg. an extra 1/2 hour of TV)

2) If a child achieves below a certain number (eg 60%), then you get zero. In addition, there are non-allowance consequences.

2) Give a Responsibility Category zero value, perhaps call it the "Must Do's". Then, if they're not done, you get zero for the entire day, regardless of what else might be done (or some other consequence).

3) Put a Financial Cap on overachievement and use other rewards. For example, some members limit their overage percentage to some fixed number (eg 110%) and provide some other non-financial benefit for great achievement.
