There’s a good chance you have already seen this but I have a great laugh every time I do. It’s scary just how many times I say these very same things. Oh well….at least the Active Allowance process and our kids’ Responsibility Checklists help me cut down the number!
Here it is – The Mom Song sung by Anita Renfroe to the tune of The William Tell Overture.
Deserves to be shared with your kids …. followed by an appropriate choice, such as “Take your pick: meet me half way today, or I will sing this outside your bedroom tomorrow morning.”
Just the threat that I might sing would probably galvanize action….but it might be flight
I watched this with my ten year old daughter and she was amazed that i’m not the only parent who says all that to there kids.
That’s hilarious! I don’t recall what my ten year old said, or even if he watched it yet (my older kids just smirked).
I’ll have to watch it with him when he gets back from camp. Looking forward to it

I run a parenting blog written by teen’s for the kid’s perspective on parenting called OnTeensToday.com. We are all about getting kid’s voices heard and think this is a funny way to do it.
Cheers,
